Birds & Batteries stopped by the D Magazine offices for a rare stripped-down set while they were in town a couple weeks ago. If you have seen the band live, and are familar with their music and videos, you know how different of a set up this is for their show. According to D Magazine, the band "killed it"! We agree.

If you did not hear (which would be surprising), we're releasing Panorama, the new album from San Francisco band, Birds & Batteries, in CD, LP and digital formats on Oct 12th. You can download the first single from the record for free at Magnet Magazine and also catch them on their US tour happening right now.

Yes, the band is kind of busy! Although, they were nice enough to find some time to make some videos and do a couple remixes to hold us over.

A video for the song “Lighting (UTNG Version)” from the 2009 EP, Up To No Good. It uses the kinetic film art of Len Lye from 1935’s Colour Box.

Spune is happy to introduce, and welcome to the artist roster, Eyes and Ears, an audio / visual performance collective from Denton. Bethany Eden (watercolor) and Nathan Allen (guitar, who you may recognize) began collaborating in the summer of 2008. Watch the video below and you'll get the idea. OYSTERFEST RELEASES MORE BANDS, TEAMS UP WITH 91.7 KXT AND DALLAS OBSERVER. JUST ADDED: MOUNT RIGHTEOUS, SERYN, RTB2, THE FOX AND THE BIRD, THE O'S, THE ROOMSOUNDS, PALE HORSE.

First of all, if you have not heard, something is brewing in Frisco! Upcoming touring bands stopping in to play Lochrann's include The Soft Pack, Lower Dens, These United States, David Dondero, Young Mammals, The Ettes, & more. As we mentioned before, we wanted to build upon this momentum so we launched Lochrann's Inaugural Oysterfest. It's becoming more and more like the best neighborhood day-party in town and should provide the perfect excuse to "make the trip"!

Reminder, we'll have an indoor and outdoor stage and almost 20 bands playing all day! The event will start at 11 am and run till 1 am, allowing everyone time to enjoy fresh oysters and great pints. Spune Books Home Sessions at City Tavern In Dallas

City Tavern is a great supporter of local music. Anyone in the Dallas music community knows that. For months, they have been hosting a weekly concert series premiering emerging artists in a somewhat stripped down, sort of "unplugged", fashion. It's a break from the noise and clutter often found in weekend shows. It's about the music and becoming more familiar with the bands you've been going to see. It's called "Home Sessions" and it's good...real good!

If you know anything about Spune, you know we endorse this sort of thing. When we were approached to book the series, we embraced it with open arms. We kick things off in September and have some cool things planned for the remainder of the year. Yes, it's mostly a platform for North Texas artists, but don't be surprised to see some regional and touring artists stop in from time to time. Either way, come out Wednesday's and come ready to listen!
